Start with the material and the required output

Hydraulic recycling equipment is selected around a process, not a broad industry label. Record the input material, its largest pieces, the required output and the way material reaches and leaves the machine. These details help identify which equipment category is worth comparing.

Common processing routes

Loose metal scrap to bales

For sheet offcuts, mixed loose scrap or other suitable metal feed, compare scrap metal balers by chamber, loading method, discharge, bale target and material-specific test conditions. Where grade separation or springback matters, also review stainless steel balers.

Long or bulky scrap to cut pieces

For bars, profiles, pipe or larger scrap, compare alligator shears, hydraulic scrap shears, gantry shears and container shears. The material grade, cross-section, feed arrangement and target cut length determine which models should be checked.

Chips and turnings to briquettes

For machining chips, swarf and turnings, assess metal briquetting presses against metal type, chip form, moisture, required briquette and any downstream recovery requirement. A representative sample is more useful than a general material name.

Repeated feeding of recyclable material

For paper, cardboard or other suitable recyclable feed, compare horizontal balers using the actual material mix, feed continuity, bale dimensions, tying method, floor space and operator workflow.

Prepare a useful equipment inquiry
