Y81 Octagonal Bale Entries: What Does the Single Dimension Describe?

The archived Y81/F-125 entry “300 octagon” does not define which distance the number measures. Do not convert it into a 300 × 300 mm square envelope or assume a diameter, radius or across-flats dimension. A current labeled cross-section drawing is needed before that entry can support a purchasing comparison.

Keep the unusual entry in its original context

Nanyuan’s historical Y81 series table contains several Y81/F-125 rows. One lists a 1400 × 900 × 600 mm press box, a “300 octagon” bale entry and 22 kW in the power column. Other 125 rows use a 300 × 300 bale entry. These are archived catalog references, not confirmation of the configurations supplied today.

The bale column is headed W × H/mm, but the octagonal entry contains only one number and a shape description. The heading does not resolve the missing dimension definition. Retain the literal wording, row reference and original column label in the inquiry instead of silently completing the cell.

Separate the shape name from the dimension reference

“Octagon” identifies a shape description in the archive. It does not establish a regular octagon, equal sides, corner geometry, dimensional tolerance or the condition of an actual bale after discharge. Those details cannot be reconstructed from the word alone.

A drawing could identify a distance between opposing faces, opposing corners or another specified pair of features. This article does not select one of those interpretations. Ask the supplier to show the actual reference with dimension arrows and identify whether it describes tooling geometry, a nominal output target or measured output under stated conditions.

Do not calculate an area, equivalent square size or outside envelope from the archived number while that reference remains undefined. Such calculations would make an assumption look like a verified specification. Keep the value as an unresolved source entry until the drawing and explanation agree.

Use a short clarification record

  • Source: the Y81 archive URL, the Y81/F-125 row and the exact “300 octagon” wording.
  • Current offer: the proposed model and configuration identifier, rather than the series name alone.
  • Profile: a current cross-section drawing with its number and revision.
  • Dimension: the labeled points or surfaces defining the single value, its unit and any applicable tolerance.
  • Measurement state: whether the drawing describes a machine reference, an output target or a documented bale observation.
  • Open item: any missing geometry or material condition that still prevents comparison.

The record is a request for technical clarification, not an instruction to measure an operating machine. Any trial or physical measurement must follow the responsible technical team’s approved procedure.

Compare the clarified profile with the actual requirement

A receiving facility may specify a dimensional envelope without requiring the same shape shown in an old catalog. Give the receiver’s written requirement to the supplier and ask how the proposed output is to be assessed. Do not assume that a number shared by a square row and an octagonal row means the two outputs are interchangeable.

The current Y81 series listing provides the appropriate product route for a model-specific discussion. Include the metal type, typical piece form and intended receiving use. Neither the historical row nor its shape label establishes throughput, bale density or acceptance for an untested material mixture.

Request one coherent current answer

Send Nanyuan the archived row and your required bale profile. Ask whether that row remains relevant to the proposed machine and request a labeled current drawing. If the present configuration uses a different profile or dimension, record it separately rather than editing the historical entry as though it had always meant the new specification.

The purchasing decision should rest on a defined current profile and agreed application evidence. Until those are available, “300 octagon” remains a useful question to resolve, not a complete bale-size specification.
