Q91Y Motor Data: Keep Installed Power Separate from Energy per Tonne

An installed motor-power figure in kilowatts does not establish electricity consumption per tonne. Energy per tonne requires measured energy and corresponding processed output over an agreed interval. Before using a Q91Y catalog figure in a purchasing comparison, distinguish historical installed-power information from evidence about the proposed operating process.

Read the archived entry in its proper context

The Q91Y-1000A product page includes an archived main-motor entry of 4 × 90 kW. The page explicitly describes its figures as historical configuration data and asks buyers to confirm the current machine specification. That entry is not a measurement of running power, a utility-bill estimate or a guaranteed energy intensity.

Retain the multiplication notation when recording the source, rather than rewriting it as an unexplained operating figure. Ask for the current configuration and which equipment is included before comparing it with another proposal. A supplier’s current documentation must establish the electrical scope of the offered machine.

Separate power, energy and output

Power is a rate; energy accumulates over time. A recorded kilowatt-hour total belongs to a specified measurement interval and boundary. Dividing that energy by the corresponding tonnes processed gives an energy-per-tonne figure for that recorded interval, provided the output and energy measurements refer to the same process.

For illustration only, a hypothetical trial recording 120 kWh and 10 tonnes over the same agreed boundary would yield 12 kWh per tonne. These numbers are not Q91Y test results and should not be used for estimating this machine’s consumption. Installed motor ratings do not supply either of those measured trial values.

Define what the meter includes

Ask whether energy records cover the main machine alone or also feeding, handling and other equipment. Identify the meter or data source and the start and finish conditions. A whole-facility meter may include unrelated loads, while a machine-only meter may omit equipment needed for the complete process.

Describe the treatment of idle time, interruptions and start-up in the trial report. A short selected cutting interval and an entire working shift answer different questions. Neither should be presented as directly comparable without making its boundary visible. Qualified personnel should determine safe measurement arrangements; this guide gives no electrical installation instructions.

Match the output record to the material

Record material grade, shape, dimensions and loading arrangement with the output measurement. State whether the tonnes refer to incoming material or accepted processed output. If rejected or unprocessed material is included in a total, disclose that definition rather than assuming every recorded tonne represents the same outcome.

Keep the trial date and configuration revision beside the measurements. A change in feed mix or associated equipment may require a new comparison. Do not carry a result from a different material stream into the quotation as though it were the buyer’s expected operating condition.

Build a fair comparison request

Request the same energy boundary, output definition and observation period from the parties being compared. Record unavailable data as unconfirmed. If only nameplate information is available, the buyer can compare that documented information while leaving energy-per-tonne performance unresolved.

Send your material, loading process, operating schedule and requested measurement scope through the Nanyuan contact page. Ask for the current electrical documentation and available relevant trial evidence. A tariff-based cost estimate would require additional local assumptions and verified consumption data; this article provides neither a cost promise nor a performance guarantee.
